Taking Stock : May 2020

I’m back! Again!πŸ€—πŸ€—

I know, I know, it’s been a while. Do I have a reason? No, not a valid one, at least. All I can say is life got in the way and many things suffered in that time, including my writing.

Did you miss me? ‘Cause I missed this space so much, that you would think I would be feeling kinda like a stranger, but it’s still familiar πŸ˜…

But I’m back, and that’s all that matters! Remember me in your prayers so that procastination doesn’t attack your girl, again! Haha!

Let’s take stock.

I saw this idea first on Sharon Mundia’s blog, This is Essential, and recently on another blogger, Ventura Blogs, and I thought I should just join the band wagon.

It such a nice idea to bring back the groove of writing and just take stock of where I am at.

Bookmarking: Ideas on Pinterest that I would love to impelement as decorative pieces at home.

Buying: A lot of household essentials, as I am the designated messenger to the outside world(By now you’ve seen this meme :-D) Yes, being the designated messenger has its perks of being able to afford time in the outside world, but not too much time, lest the virus catches up with you!

Cooking: Amazing meals for my family, as the designated cook. I’m truly taking time to be grateful each day for the lessons that come with being in the kitchen almost 24/7. It’s tough, but I’m loving it!

Coveting: Walks by the beach!! Ms, Rona, wassu-happening baby?πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Enjoying: Spending time with my family. Learning to live with each other can be difficult, especially when this usually only happens for 2-3 weeks at a time. But everyday is a milestone, and we give thanks! I wouldn’t rather be anywhere else than here!!

Feeling: ATM: GRATEFUL. I’m grateful for a roof over my head, food on my plate, my health, my mental space and my family and friends. Gratitude is a must-KoffeeπŸ™πŸΎ

Following: Food vloggers/bloggers around the world. From Miss Mandi to Tasty Kitchen, my family has been enjoying the amazing meals, if I do say so myself!πŸ’πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

Getting: Used to the idea of being indoors all the time. Please tell me I’m not the only one suffering. My fellow extroverts, what are you doing to keep sane?😭

Giggling: at MEMES!! Weeeh! Kenyaaannnssss!!! Even in the midst of a pandemic, we can still manage to make it funny and laughable! (Anybody can GERRIT!)πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Hoping: That God will see us through this pandemic. It is a really trying situation but we need to pray and hope in Him ALONE!

Learning: A lot of cooking and cleaning tricks and tips to help me around the house. Maybe I’ll share them here, just maybe πŸ˜‰

Liking: The current state of my locs. They are flourishing, and I’m doing the bare minimum, of course without the salon visits, ’cause QWOORROONAAA!( Insert Cardi B’s voice) πŸ˜‚

Listening: To music that is soothing to my soul. Especially when I feel anxious, it helps calm me down, even for just those 4 minutes. Moreso worship songs, IDK, but my focus shifts from what’s making me anxious to God and that’s all I need. 😌

Looking: After 5 new puppies that are now 6 weeks old! They are so playful and energetic, it’s amazing!

Loving: The mental space that I am at right now. Mental health is key and being aware of where you are is important for your personal wellbeing. I’m grateful for the ability to get the courage to get back to writing after so long. I’m loving where I am and I give thanks!

Making: Plans for the future, now that Ms Rona has decided to set camp for a few months to come.

Noticing: That taking care of puppies/dogs is like caring for a human child; so much work, but so much more love to receive from them!

Opening: my blog after 1000 years of being away! JK, opening myself to new creative adventures, such a colouring. This has been a great pass time and stress reliever too. I highly suggest you try it for yourself and see how much you’ll enjoy it like a 6-year-old!

Reading: A lot more blogs. Wacha tusidanganyane, I haven’t touched a physical book since I came back home like 2 months ago. I’m sure the next time I will is to revise for the 2 exams that are still pending. (Ms Rona, Nakucheki!)

Sorting: Through laundry that should have been sorted ages ago! Don’t worry, procastination is at its best here!πŸ˜‚

Sipping: On some sweet camomile tea every evening as it’s the best way to relax and get a goodnight’s sleep. But not forgetting our 8-10 glasses of water a day! Msa heat will not let you rest easy without your water nearby.

Smelling: A lot of dettol and jik. If you know, you know, Sanitation is key!

Thinking: About whether I’ll graduate or not. Ms Rona, aiii shawty, ni wewe kweli?

Watching: Avatar: The Last Airbender The Legend of Aang. If you know me, you know I LOVE animation movies, and this one has me hooked. Just in case you wanna join me, its on Showmax, IDK if they still have the offer they have been raving about for a while.

Wearing: DERAS!! This is the official quarantine uniform. Especially in Mombasa, where the weather has mood swings as thou its PMS! smh!

Wishing: Ms Rona would just pack up and leave! I feel as though she has brought my life to a standstill and she needs to bounce so that I can get my act together.
